Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid was born in Vietnam and also has Chinese heritage, yet her father Winston Barrett Munn comes from a Southern family. Olivia's parents split up when she was just two years old. Her mother raised her along with her stepfather, who is a United States Air Force officer. The family left Oklahoma, and lived in different locations, however she spent the bulk of her childhood in Tokyo. In Japan, she acted as an actress at local shows and eventually turned into an Japanese modeling model. After the family returned home to United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her ambition of becoming an actor. Following a handful of small performances and a few small roles, her career took off on an extremely promising direction after she secured the part as Mily Acuna on the Hawaii-lensed television series Beyond the Break (2006) and the role as Rob Schneider's receptionist on Big Stan (2007). She hosts "The Daily Nut", "Formula D" and "The Formula D Podcasts" on G4. Since the 2006 television show Beyond the Break, she has continued to surf. Her black belt is in the martial art of taekwondo. The year 2000 was when she turned two years of age, her mother was married again. Although the family moved numerous times, the vast majority of her life was spent in Tokyo Japan which was the place that her stepfather was employed by the military. It was the University of Oklahoma is where she pursued her journalism studies, along with minors in Japanese, drama and dramatic arts.
